Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ovlla Joikhaaja!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joikhaaja misses with a lunging right hand
and Santana makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Santana fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Santana tries to clinch there but Joikhaaja circles away.

and Santana counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Santana will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Santana won't allow Joikhaaja to get back to his feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Senior Santana just wasn't active enough.
Santana misses with a takedown attempt - Joikhaaja sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Senior Santana. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Santana closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Joikhaaja has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Santana after a bit of a struggle.
Joikhaaja is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Santana pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Joikhaaja should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Santana with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Santana is leaning against Joikhaaja and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Joikhaaja is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Santana is defending well.

Santana gets control of Joikhaaja's arms and successfully pulls guard. Santana will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Santana is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Joikhaaja is trying to control the action in half guard but Santana is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Joikhaaja has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Santana manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Santana shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Joikhaaja as he avoids it easily.

Santana fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Joikhaaja to the ground. Santana is now in Joikhaaja's guard.
Santana is breathing heavily.
Joikhaaja is trying to keep Santana in close.
Joikhaaja lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Santana!

Joikhaaja lands a big shot there that rocks Santana but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Santana tries to hold on but Joikhaaja pushes him away.
Joikhaaja lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Santana is in a horrible position here. Joikhaaja smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Joikhaaja has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Santana's face.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Santana is desperately trying to improve his position but Joikhaaja has a good base and remains in mount.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ovlla Joikhaaja dominated that round.
That's time! Santana's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Joikhaaja misses the shot to the body.
It looks like Senior Santana has been cut.
Joikhaaja leaves Santana with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Joikhaaja doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Santana decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Joikhaaja's guard.
Joikhaaja looking to hit a scissor sweep but Santana is one step ahead there.
Ovlla Joikhaaja has got the better of the ground game so far.
Joikhaaja manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Joikhaaja postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Santana bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Joikhaaja and the fight is over!
