Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Collin O Reilly! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Anderson Silva! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up but O Reilly swats him away and circles back towards the center. O Reilly fails with an attempt to clinch.
Silva fails with a takedown attempt. O Reilly really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. A punch combination from O Reilly misses. O Reilly misses with a jab, cross combination.
O Reilly closes the distance and clinches. O Reilly manages to break the clinch.
O Reilly has Silva up against the cage in a clinch.
O Reilly wants to break free but Silva has control.
O Reilly is trying to break free. Silva works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. O Reilly keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Anderson Silva. O Reilly scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. O Reilly shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silva sprawls well. Silva wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. O Reilly gets slowly back to his feet. Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has O Reilly pinned against the cage. O Reilly gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Silva is defended easily by O Reilly. Collin O Reilly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anderson Silva.

Silva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as O Reilly sprawls well. O Reilly wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Silva gets slowly back to his feet. O Reilly scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. O Reilly tries to clinch up. O Reilly throws a right and a left that Silva avoids nicely. Silva moves into the clinch successfully.

O Reilly is trying to break the clinch but Silva has him pressed against the cage. A battle for position here, against the cage. This has been an exciting period of action! O Reilly blocking some punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva stalling in the clinch but O Reilly improves position. O Reilly tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Silva lands a takedown into guard.
Silva trying to control but O Reilly is working from the bottom. Silva is looking to stand up but O Reilly won't let him. O Reilly on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if O Reilly tries to get out of the position. Silva wants to control from the top but O Reilly keeps moving. Silva looking to pass the guard. Silva trying to control but O Reilly is working from the bottom.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Anderson Silva hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. O Reilly closes the distance and pushes Silva back into the cage. O Reilly is looking to break free of the clinch but Silva has double underhooks. O Reilly lands a body shot. O Reilly has had enough of the clinch but Silva keeps him there for the moment. Silva trying to stall but O Reilly improves his position.
Silva is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but O Reilly is defending well. O Reilly breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
O Reilly fails with a takedown attempt. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. O Reilly tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Silva manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. O Reilly rushes Silva and presses him up against the cage. O Reilly lands a left hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Collin O Reilly will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Silva tries to move into range but O Reilly moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Silva throws a hook but O Reilly avoids it easily. Silva is on the wrong end of a nice combination from O Reilly.
That's one minute gone in the round. O Reilly connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Silva momentarily.
O Reilly fails in his attempt to clinch. Silva swats away the attempt to clinch by O Reilly. Silva shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says O Reilly as he avoids it easily. O Reilly lands a jab to Silva's midsection. Silva tries to clinch there but O Reilly circles away.
O Reilly is looking to clinch but Silva is avoiding it.
Silva tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. O Reilly misses with a wild body shot. A combination from O Reilly does no damage. O Reilly moves in looking to clinch but Silva pushes him off. O Reilly rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silva moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Collin O Reilly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva clinches up with O Reilly and pushes him back against the cage. Silva escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. O Reilly cracks Silva with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Silva avoids a punch combination nicely.

O Reilly tries to bum rush Silva with a series of wild strikes but Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Collin O Reilly is winning the standup battle so far. O Reilly misses with the combination.
Collin O Reilly is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. O Reilly misses with a takedown attempt - Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Silva gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and O Reilly cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Collin O Reilly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anderson Silva. O Reilly shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Silva moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. O Reilly won't allow Silva to sweep him here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Collin O Reilly will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. O Reilly scores with a crisp jab that stopped Silva in his tracks. O Reilly looks to clinch and Silva moves into the clinch. A frustrated look appears on O Reilly's face as he tries to break the clinch. O Reilly wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Silva's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Silva shoots for a takedown but O Reilly saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. O Reilly will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

O Reilly stands up and waves to Silva to follow him. Silva circles away from the clinch attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva throws a sloppy head kick and O Reilly moves out of range easily. Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. O Reilly tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag O Reilly to the ground. O Reilly escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Collin O Reilly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anderson Silva. Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. O Reilly connects with a body shot. Silva shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. O Reilly defends it nicely. O Reilly looks for a takedown but Silva sprawls well. O Reilly misses with a jab, cross combination.

That's two minutes gone in the round. O Reilly swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva. Silva tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but O Reilly swivels and escapes. Silva looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. O Reilly throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Silva on the side of the head. Silva gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. O Reilly stays in close to Silva's body and controls the position. O Reilly pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silva is keeping the position for now. Silva looking to hit a scissor sweep but O Reilly is one step ahead there.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Collin O Reilly. O Reilly has taken the fight to the clinch.
O Reilly is looking to break free of the clinch but Silva has double underhooks. Silva has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics O Reilly uses from the top position. O Reilly pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silva is keeping the position for now. O Reilly has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. O Reilly seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Silva for as long as he can get away with. Anderson Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Silva is trying to control the position but O Reilly postures up.

O Reilly shoots in but Silva avoids the takedown attempt easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Collin O Reilly showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for O Reilly, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
