PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hell Rose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Huey Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Freeman is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Leverage - Mister Universe. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hell Rose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Huey Freeman!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freeman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rose tries to avoid it but Freeman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rose to the ground. Rose escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Freeman throws an overhand right that lands on Rose's shoulder, as Rose tries to avoid the shot.
Rose avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Rose walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Rose throws a shot from downtown. Freeman moves away and avoids it.
Rose shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Freeman defending well as Rose loads up on a big left hand.
A solid leg kick lands there for Freeman.
Freeman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rose's waist but Rose gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Freeman off to one side.
Freeman throws a wild body kick that Rose sees coming a mile off.
Freeman uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Rose has time to react.
Freeman pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Rose cracks Freeman with an open hand slap.

Freeman lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Rose backs up against the cage.
Freeman connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Freeman moves out of range as Rose strikes.
Rose gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Freeman misses with a low kick.
Rose tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Freeman is able to avoid easily.

Freeman is pushing down on Rose's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rose is fighting to maintain full guard but Freeman has managed to sneak the leg through.

Freeman landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Rose knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Freeman on the ground.
Freeman moves nicely into side control.
Rose is working to avoid the ground and pound but Freeman connects with a decent elbow.

Rose on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rose tries to get out of the position.

Rose tries to buck Freeman off but Freeman is having none of it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rose tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Freeman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

You can see the frustration on Rose's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Freeman looks up at the clock and then as Rose takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Freeman smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Freeman creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Rose takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Oh Rose is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Freeman lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Rose down.
Rose pushes Freeman away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Freeman gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rose throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Freeman stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Rose throws a looping overhand right but Freeman ducks down to avoid it.

Freeman has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Rose.
Rose dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Freeman. That did some damage!

Rose feints and then cracks Freeman's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Freeman down.

Huey Freeman's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The fighters circling - Rose throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Freeman shoots in for a double leg but Rose sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A lazy left from Rose finds it's target.
Rose tries to close the distance and clinch up but Freeman swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Hell Rose decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
