Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeremy Voda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 18 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pete Damato!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Damato.
No luck for Voda with that takedown attempt.

Voda gets a clinch.
Damato misses with a hook from the clinch.
Damato wants to break free but Voda has control.
Damato looking to stall.
Damato has a couple of punches blocked by Voda.
Damato scores with a shot to the side of Voda's head.

Damato tries to throw a body punch but Voda avoids it by throwing Damato back against the cage.

Voda breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Voda blocks a head kick by Damato.
Voda connects with a crisp jab.

Damato throws a push kick but Voda slaps the foot to one side.

Voda bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Voda goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Damato has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Voda but great work by Damato.
Damato tries to advance to mount but Voda denies him.
Damato wants to lay and pray for a moment but Voda keeps working.
Voda is looking for a sweep.
Voda is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Damato off and has taken his back!
The referee is taking a good look at Damato as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Voda!

Damato defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Voda is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Voda looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Damato with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Voda seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Voda content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Voda working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Voda shoots in for a double leg but Damato sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Voda's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Voda duly obliges.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Voda.

Damato does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Voda fails with the takedown.

Voda shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Damato as he avoids it easily.
Jeremy Voda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Voda drives through with a takedown into Damato's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Damato is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Damato wants to control from the top but Voda keeps moving.

Damato really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Voda. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jeremy Voda will probably get the nod.

Damato throws a lazy right hand but Voda sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Damato, right into the meat.

Voda drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Voda has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Voda, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
