Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Russell Ives (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angelo Izzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Russell Ives!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Angelo Izzo!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ives lands an overhand right.

Izzo moves into the clinch.
Ives stops a takedown attempt from Izzo.
Izzo tries to pull guard but Ives holds him up against the cage and eventually Izzo drops back down to his feet.
Ives is pushing Izzo up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Ives pushes Izzo back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Ives misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Izzo content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Ives lands a shoulder strike.
Izzo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ives walks away with a smile on his face. Izzo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Russell Ives has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Angelo Izzo.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Izzo is defended easily by Ives.

Ives closes the distance and clinches.

Izzo working hard to break the clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Ives misses with a body punch.
Izzo wants a takedown but no success here.

Ives lands a takedown into guard.

Izzo wants to stand up but Ives is controlling him.
Ives postures up in Izzo's guard and throws a big left but Izzo blocks it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Izzo keeping moving, preventing Ives from controlling successfully.

Izzo pushes Ives off and gets back to his feet.
Ives misses with a double jab.
Ives misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ives loads up on a big right hand but Izzo slips the punch.
Ives closes the distance and clinches up with Izzo, looking for a takedown. Ives pushes Izzo against the cage but Izzo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Izzo walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Izzo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Ives gets in close and instigates a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Izzo takes a shot to the head.

Ives breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Izzo misses with a takedown
and Ives counters with a nice uppercut.
Izzo tries to close the distance and clinch but Ives swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A swing and a miss from Ives.
Ives misses the shot to the body.
A jab from Ives does it's job there.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ives, as that shot connected.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ives is looking to clinch.
Izzo circles away from the clinch attempt.
Izzo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Russell Ives dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Izzo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Ives misses with a wild combination.
Ives fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Izzo has his takedown stuffed
and Ives counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ives lands with a straight right. Izzo didn't see that one coming.
Izzo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Ives throws a right and a left that Izzo avoids nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Izzo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Izzo fails to land the takedown.
Izzo takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Ives doesn't manage to clinch there - Izzo circles away.
Ives tries to bum rush Izzo with a series of wild strikes but Izzo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ives throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Izzo sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Ives tries to clinch there but Izzo circles away.
Ives swats away the attempt to clinch by Izzo.
Izzo misses with a few strikes there.
Izzo does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Izzo shoots for a takedown but Ives saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Russell Ives has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Angelo Izzo.
A jab from Ives finds it's way through Izzo's defenses.
Izzo shoots in looking for a takedown. Ives tries to sprawl out of it but Izzo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ives manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Izzo is breathing heavily.

Ives gets in close and instigates a clinch.
A right handed body shot lands from Ives.

Ives has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Izzo clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Ives trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

Izzo rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Izzo wants to control but Ives is keeping busy.
Ives is just content to waste time from the top position. Izzo takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Ives throws a strike but Izzo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Ives manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Izzo sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ives perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Izzo is looking to escape.
Izzo regains full guard. Nicely done.
Ives connects with a couple of short punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Ives misses with a takedown attempt - Izzo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nice takedown defense from Izzo. No joy for Ives on that attempt.
Izzo slips a straight right by Ives.
Izzo takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Russell Ives is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ives fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Izzo shoots in for a takedown but Ives shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Izzo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ives.

Izzo is trying desperately to land a takedown but Ives is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Izzo.

Ives swings for the body but Izzo moves out of range.

Ives takes a swing at Izzo's ribcage but misses.
Izzo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Russell Ives seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ives shoots in for a takedown but Izzo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Ives tries to close the distance and clinch but Izzo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ives throws a lazy right hand but Izzo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Izzo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ives tries to avoid it but Izzo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ives to the ground. Ives escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ives ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Ives closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Izzo is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Ives is just content to waste time from the top position. Izzo takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Izzo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ives wants to get back to full guard.

Ives can't keep his opponent in guard - Izzo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Ives moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Izzo stands and throws Ives's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Ives tries to improve position but can't.
Ives on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ives tries to get out of the position.

Izzo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Izzo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ives knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Ives tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Izzo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Izzo cracks Ives with a big elbow.
Ives looks to move to half guard but instead Izzo has passed into mount! Damn!
Izzo trying to control but Ives is having none of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Izzo fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Russell Ives.
Well Ives has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
