Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Bzdunek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lonny Waters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bzdunek's entrance music is Kilka ostatnich krokow. A fine choice. Waters has chosen Graduation - Gemini as his entrance music. Lonny Waters will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Bzdunek! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lonny Waters! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bzdunek with a nice cross.
It looks like Lonny Waters has been cut. Waters throws a poor cross that misses
and Bzdunek cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Waters instigates a clinch. Waters breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
John Bzdunek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bzdunek with a lazy takedown attempt and Waters counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Bzdunek is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Waters is defending well. Waters is pushing Bzdunek up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Waters lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Waters is struggling to control the position. Waters lands a right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Waters is pressed up against the ropes. Bzdunek has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Waters down to the mat. Waters avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Bzdunek. That's going to take a lot out of him. Some wild striking there from Waters.

Horrible takedown by Bzdunek or perhaps it was just good defense by Waters which made him look bad. Bzdunek shoots for a double leg takedown but Waters sprawls well. He's pushed Bzdunek's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Bzdunek falls off balance throwing a combination
and Waters counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Bzdunek crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Waters - the referee stops the clock and Bzdunek gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Waters. Bzdunek manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Bzdunek with a lazy takedown attempt and Waters counters by clinching up. Waters working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Waters lands a hook to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Waters lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Bzdunek backwards. Waters lands with a short shot to the head. Waters is struggling to control the position. Waters lands an uppercut. Waters escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bzdunek's jab looks to have found its range, popping Waters under the eye. A right-left combo lands from Bzdunek. Bzdunek looks for a takedown but Waters sprawls well. Bzdunek slips a straight right by Waters.

Lonny Waters is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nice takedown defense from Waters. No joy for Bzdunek on that attempt. Bzdunek scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Waters doesn't seem bothered though. Bzdunek tries for a takedown but Waters sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Bzdunek shoots in looking for a takedown. Waters tries to sprawl out of it but Bzdunek keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Waters manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Bzdunek lands a nice shot that snaps Waters's head back.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Bzdunek scores with the left hand. Waters knows he should have avoided that one. Bzdunek staying out of range there. Waters throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bzdunek sees it coming and avoids it easily. Waters is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Bzdunek tries to score a power double leg takedown but Waters sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bzdunek somewhat. Waters moves into the clinch successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Waters pushes Bzdunek back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head. Waters pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bzdunek uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Waters. Bzdunek closes this distance looking for a takedown but Waters circles away. Waters rushes Bzdunek and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Waters lands a right hand. Waters prevents a takedown attempt there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Waters lands with a short head shot on the inside. Bzdunek changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Waters fights it off and pushes away nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Bzdunek will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Lonny Waters's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

Waters's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. A shot to the liver by Bzdunek. Beautiful body shot. Bzdunek takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Bzdunek moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Bzdunek fails with a takedown attempt. John Bzdunek is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nice takedown defense from Waters. No joy for Bzdunek on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Bzdunek. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bzdunek feints a jab promting Waters to slip. Bzdunek then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Waters slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round. Waters displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Bzdunek cracks Waters with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes. Waters throws a right hand that Bzdunek ducks under and follows up with a left that Bzdunek also avoids with ease. Bzdunek defending well as Waters loads up on a big left hand. Waters closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Waters is struggling to control the position. Waters's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Waters gets in close and instigates a clinch. Bzdunek is trying to pull guard but Waters turns him against the ropes and we stay in the clinch. Waters doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Bzdunek digs a good body shot into Waters's ribs. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bzdunek lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Waters backs up against the ropes.
Bzdunek takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Waters is breathing heavily. Bzdunek lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
That has opened up Lonny Waters's cut even more. Bzdunek fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Bzdunek shoots in and drives through. Waters sprawls well. Waters misses with a wild combination.
Waters looks to land a right hand but Bzdunek moved out of range. Bzdunek shoots in looking for a takedown but Waters manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bzdunek's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Waters looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Waters throws a series of punches but Bzdunek avoids them all with ease. Waters on the wrong end of a nice jab. No luck with that takedown attempt from Bzdunek.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice shot by Bzdunek. Bzdunek misses with a takedown attempt and Waters counters with a good, hard body kick but Bzdunek shrugs it off. Waters throws a right and a left that Bzdunek avoids nicely. Waters looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Nice takedown defense from Waters. No joy for Bzdunek on that attempt. Bzdunek blocks a jab. John Bzdunek is winning the standup battle so far. Bzdunek tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Waters swivels and escapes. Bzdunek has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Waters. A combination from Waters does no damage. Bzdunek throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Waters's waist but Waters gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bzdunek off to one side. Waters misses the jab. Waters with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bzdunek to score with a decent uppercut. Bzdunek lands with a shot to the body. No joy there for Waters, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Bzdunek gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Waters counters with a head kick. That will keep Bzdunek thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Waters has managed to clinch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bzdunek is looking for a takedown. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Bzdunek jumps guard but Waters stands there with Bzdunek around his waist. Bzdunek gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Waters slaps away a takedown attempt from Bzdunek, before circling back to the center of the mat. Bzdunek pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Waters back to the ropes. Bzdunek follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Bzdunek shoots in for a double leg but Waters sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Bzdunek avoids a punch combination nicely.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Bzdunek. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Bzdunek. That's going to take a lot out of him. A decent looking body kick lands there for Waters. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Waters swinging wildly here.

That's one minute gone in the round. A punch combination from Waters misses. Bzdunek misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Nice shot by Bzdunek. Bzdunek bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Waters's head. Waters swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Waters tries to move into range but Bzdunek moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Bzdunek misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Waters has taken the fight to the clinch.

Bzdunek fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Waters on the side of the head. Waters takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Waters shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Waters scores with a jab to the head.

and Bzdunek cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Waters walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Bzdunek tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Waters swivels and escapes. Bzdunek throws a chopping leg kick but Waters manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Bzdunek misses with an uppercut. Bzdunek will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Waters closes the distance and pushes Bzdunek back into the ropes. Waters breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Bzdunek throws a series of punches but Waters avoids them all with ease. Bzdunek will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Waters pushes Bzdunek up against the ropes in a clinch. Waters is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. A quick uppercut on the inside from Waters.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Waters lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Waters swings wildly with an uppercut but Bzdunek uses good head movement to avoid it. Waters lands a hook to the side of the head. Bzdunek tries to score a body lock takedown but Waters shows good agility there to stay on his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Waters scores with a shoulder strike. Lonny Waters has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Waters gets through Bzdunek's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Bzdunek. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bzdunek, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
