Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brian Lobe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eugene Albright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Eugene Albright enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brian Lobe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eugene Albright!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Mauricio Rocha and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Albright looks to throw the jab but Lobe is out of range.

Lobe fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Albright sprawls well initially but Lobe persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Lobe wants to lay and pray for a moment but Albright keeps working.

Lobe is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Albright trying to hold on to Lobe's head to control him but Lobe postures up.
Albright is controlling Lobe's trapped leg to prevent Lobe from advancing to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lobe is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Lobe is trying to control. Albright wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Lobe is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Albright is just riding it out for now. Lobe eventually gives up the hold.

Lobe is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Albright sees it coming and defends easily.
Albright is in trouble now - Lobe has advanced to mount!

Lobe goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Albright turns into him and now he's in Lobe's guard.

Lobe has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Albright can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lobe is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Albright is aware though and is defending well.

Albright won't allow Lobe to sweep him here.
Lobe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Albright is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Lobe working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Albright doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Albright manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Albright is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Lobe shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Albright manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Albright pulls Lobe in close to prevent any damage.

Albright avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Lobe trying to control the position from guard on top but Albright is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lobe stays in close to Albright's body and controls the position.
Albright wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Albright instigates a clinch.

Lobe jumps guard and drags Albright to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Albright controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Lobe is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Lobe's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Albright looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Albright is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Lobe tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Lobe is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Albright defends well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lobe has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Albright can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Albright got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lobe has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Albright has managed to get both his arms back between Lobe's legs - danger averted.
Lobe wants to improve his position but instead Albright has moved into half guard.
Lobe wants to get back to full guard but Albright has passed into side control.

Lobe working for a triangle but Albright defends it easily.

Lobe throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Albright escapes and throws Lobe's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lobe controls the position for a moment.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Lobe is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Albright's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Lobe is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Albright jumps into side control!

Lobe is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

That was a close second round but I would say that Brian Lobe will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Lobe drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lobe jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Lobe is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Albright doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lobe.

Let's hope that Albright has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lobe, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
