Carneiro comes to the cage accompanied by The Rasmus - In the Shadows. Daniel Carneiro has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carneiro closes the distance and clinches.
Eerkilaa softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

It looks like Daniel Carneiro has been cut.
Carneiro wants to take the fight to the mat but Eerkilaa manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Eerkilaa tries to stall but Carneiro uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Carneiro keeps control of Eerkilaa as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Eerkilaa wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Carneiro has him pressed against the cage.

Carneiro gets control of Eerkilaa's arms and successfully pulls guard. Carneiro will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Carneiro wriggles free and stands up.

Carneiro rushes Eerkilaa and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Eerkilaa tries to break free but Carneiro pushes him back against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Carneiro lands a takedown into guard.
Carneiro trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Carneiro drops back looking for a leg! Eerkilaa is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Eerkilaa manages to kick Carneiro off! Carneiro jumps back into Eerkilaa's guard.
Eerkilaa has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Carneiro has passed into side control.

Carneiro working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Carneiro is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Eerkilaa is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Eerkilaa wants to control but Carneiro postures up.
Eerkilaa is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Carneiro content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Eerkilaa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carneiro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Carneiro thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Eerkilaa is trying to control Carneiro's posture but Carneiro avoids it.
Eerkilaa is looking to regain half guard here but Carneiro keeps moving and retains side control.
Carneiro looks up at the clock and then as Eerkilaa takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Carneiro smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Carneiro is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Eerkilaa knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Carneiro is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Eerkilaa has escaped the position, nice work there.

Carneiro is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Eerkilaa is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Eerkilaa is trying to control Carneiro's posture but Carneiro avoids it.
Carneiro is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Carneiro has hold of Eerkilaa's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Eerkilaa tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Carneiro cranks the arm and Eerkilaa screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Eerkilaa, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Daniel Carneiro took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.
