Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Spartan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Burgundy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spartan comes to the cage accompanied by Temper, Temper. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Spartan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Ron Burgundy! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burgundy throws a right hand that Spartan ducks under and follows up with a left that Spartan also avoids with ease. Burgundy looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Spartan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Burgundy's guard. Spartan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Burgundy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Spartan tries to free his leg and advance position but Burgundy is retaining full guard. Spartan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Burgundy looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Spartan looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spartan slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Spartan is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Burgundy has escaped the position, nice work there. Spartan looks up at the clock and then as Burgundy takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Spartan smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The referee asks Spartan politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Spartan prefers to stall for the moment though. Spartan decides to stand back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burgundy leaves Spartan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Burgundy throws a hook but Spartan blocks it. Burgundy closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Spartan is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Burgundy off and has taken his back! Spartan has good solid back control here. Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Spartan.

Burgundy is keeping busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spartan controlling from the back. Burgundy is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Spartan gets his way!
Burgundy avoids the strikes from Spartan. Spartan has Burgundy flattened out and is raining down punches. Burgundy looking very determined here, making life difficult for Spartan.
That's four minutes gone in the round. I really don't envy Burgundy right now.
Spartan lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Burgundy.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Spartan punches Burgundy on the ear. Spartan trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Burgundy doesn't escape. Spartan sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Burgundy taps out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Dave Spartan! A very excited looking Dave Spartan made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
