Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harry Pigeon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oscar Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pigeon kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Hank Williams Jr. - Country Boy Can Survive. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Payne looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nice sprawl there from Payne as Pigeon shoots in.
Payne with a poor takedown
and Pigeon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Payne tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pigeon was well out of range. Poor timing from Payne.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Payne is defended easily by Pigeon.

Pigeon throws a shot from downtown. Payne moves away and avoids it.
Pigeon scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Payne is rocked!
Oscar Payne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pigeon wants to land a leg kick but Payne is out of range.
Payne is still on wobbly legs! Can Pigeon finish him?
Payne stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Pigeon.
Payne seems to have recovered his senses.

Pigeon throws out a loose jab but Payne uses good head movement to avoid it.

Pigeon misses with a takedown attempt - Payne sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pigeon throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Payne stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Payne misses with a low kick.
Payne is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Payne wants to clinch up but Pigeon keeps it at a distance.
Pigeon is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Pigeon shoots in but Payne avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Payne on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Pigeon lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Payne misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

and Pigeon counters with a huge left! Payne is in big trouble! He's backing up but Pigeon isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Payne from any more damage. A dominating finish by Pigeon!

After winning the bout, Harry Pigeon thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
