Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Maximus Pavlic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Maximus Pavlic has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Maximus Pavlic seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan misses with a looping left.
Pavlic closes the distance and clinches.
Pavlic has a couple of punches blocked by Ryan.
Pavlic keeps control of Ryan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Pavlic throws a punch but it's blocked by Ryan.
Pavlic tries for a takedown but Ryan manages to get underhooks.

Ryan wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Pavlic is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Ryan gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Pavlic lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ryan backwards.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pavlic wants to sweep but no luck.
Ryan is looking to work some ground and pound but Pavlic has wrist control.

Ryan throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Pavlic throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ryan's waist but Ryan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pavlic off to one side.

Ryan is refusing to be controlled, as Pavlic sits in half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pavlic closes the distance and clinches up with Ryan, looking for a takedown. Pavlic pushes Ryan against the cage but Ryan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Pavlic clinches up with Ryan and pushes him back against the cage.

Ryan wants to get back to striking at distance but Pavlic won't allow it.
Ryan prevents the takedown attempt.
A right hook to the body lands for Pavlic.
Pavlic fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Pavlic drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ryan gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Pavlic jumps guard and drags Ryan to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Pavlic has his foot on Ryan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ryan works his way back into a safe position though.

Pavlic had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Ryan is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Pavlic Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Ryan's back instead.

That was a close second round but I would say that Maximus Pavlic will probably get the nod.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pavlic, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
