Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Danny Guerra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vrando Vraganza!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vraganza tried to score with a low kick but Guerra checks it.
Guerra does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
The fighters circling - Vraganza throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Vraganza swinging wildly here.
Guerra misses with a takedown attempt
and Vraganza counters with a nice body kick.
Guerra tries for a takedown but Vraganza circles away easily
and Vraganza counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Guerra lands a really nice looking cross but Vraganza seems unphased.

and Guerra takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danny Guerra. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Guerra tries to clinch but Vraganza moves away
and Vraganza finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Guerra is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Guerra takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Guerra darts in trying to clinch
letting Vraganza counter with a right hand.
Danny Guerra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vraganza lands a leg kick that knocks Guerra off balance momentarily.
Vraganza cracks Guerra with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Guerra looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Vraganza finish him?
Guerra is rocked!
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Guerra. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Vraganza throws a hook but Guerra blocks it.
Oh Guerra is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Vraganza lands a brutal head kick. Guerra looks out on his feet and Vraganza throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Vrando Vraganza!
Vrando Vraganza took his opportunity to call for a title shot in his post fight interview.
