Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Justin Vallefort! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mathew Ore! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Alyssa Summers and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vallefort stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Vallefort wants it to stay on the feet. Ore tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vallefort was well out of range. Poor timing from Ore. Ore clinches. Ore turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Ore is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Sloppy strikes there by Ore. Vallefort is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Vallefort is looking for a sweep. Vallefort wants to control but Ore postures up. Ore working the strikes but Vallefort uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Ore throwing shots but Vallefort is blocking nicely. Vallefort is trying to control but can't.
Ore is looking for a kimura but Vallefort is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ore to get the leverage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ore slows the pace down in half guard. Vallefort might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Ore tries to pass the half guard into mount. Vallefort knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Ore drops an elbow to the side of Vallefort's head. Ore wants to pass to mount but Vallefort is defending the position. Vallefort gets back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ore is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vallefort keeping full guard, as Ore tries to pass. Ore is posturing up here but Vallefort has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Ore tries to roll out but it's too tight and Ore has to tap! Slick submission there by Vallefort!
