Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Drago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Da Costa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drago comes to the cage accompanied by Antonin Dvorak- Symphony 9. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Michael Da Costa!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksandr Martynov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drago lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Da Costa at a distance.

Drago tries to keep at a distance but Da Costa has taken the fight into the clinch.
Da Costa tries to pull guard but Drago holds him up against the cage and eventually Da Costa drops back down to his feet.
Drago misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Da Costa.
Da Costa blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Drago has a couple of punches blocked by Da Costa.

Da Costa is trying to break free.
Da Costa has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Da Costa.
Da Costa tries for a takedown. No joy.

Drago wants to get up but he can't break Da Costa's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Drago is fighting to break Da Costa's control of his arms but Da Costa is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Drago has Da Costa pressed against the cage, preventing Da Costa from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ivan Drago will probably get the nod.

Da Costa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Drago's waist but Drago gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Da Costa off to one side.

Drago is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Da Costa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Drago tries to avoid it but Da Costa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Drago to the ground. Drago escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Drago connects with a combination that backs up Da Costa into the cage. Drago lands a flurry of punches that gets past Da Costa's guard. Da Costa is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Drago bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ivan Drago!
Ivan Drago bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
