The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hielscher throws a combination. Lau tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Lau misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lau is looking to clinch.
Hielscher misses the body punch
and Lau counters with a nice low kick that buckles Hielscher's knee momentarily.
An inside leg kick from Lau misses.
Lau fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Hielscher checks it well.
Johnny Lau seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hielscher lands a jab to the nose.
Lau is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Lau takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Hielscher throws a low kick but it's checked well by Lau.
Lau misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Lau walks into a jab.
Lau throws a head kick but Hielscher moves out of range.
Hielscher misses with a few strikes there.

A slapping leg kick lands for Hielscher.
Hielscher moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Hielscher fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Hielscher throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Hielscher cracks Lau with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Lau chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hielscher can pounce on him.
Hielscher misses with a wild body shot.
Hielscher scores with a jab to the body.
Lau looks for the body kick but Hielscher saw that one coming.
Hielscher loads up on a big right hand but Lau slips the punch.
Hielscher throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A head kick misses from Lau.
Lau throws a leg kick that is checked
and Hielscher counters with a stiff right hand.
Hielscher cracks the inside of Lau's front leg.

Hielscher cracks Lau with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Hielscher has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Lau to stand back up!

Lau is rocked!
Lau pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lau is still on wobbly legs! Can Hielscher finish him?
Lau looks winded!
Lau lands with a thumping leg kick.
Lau misses with a hook
and Hielscher counters with a nice low kick that buckles Lau's knee momentarily.
Hielscher pounces like a tiger and cracks Lau with a vicious hook! Lau is down but not out! Hielscher follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
