Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ze Paulo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Gaucho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ze Paulo has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ze Paulo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rafael Gaucho! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gaucho misses with a takedown attempt and Paulo counters by moving into the clinch. Gaucho holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Paulo changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Gaucho fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Paulo misses with a takedown and Gaucho counters with a shoot takedown. Paulo fights it but they end up in guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Gaucho passes Paulo's left leg - he's now in half guard. Gaucho wants to control but Paulo is keeping him busy. Gaucho is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Paulo is just riding it out for now. Gaucho eventually gives up the hold. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Paulo is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gaucho's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gaucho's back! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Gaucho's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Gaucho turns into Paulo and is now in his guard.
Paulo has his foot on Gaucho's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gaucho works his way back into a safe position though. Gaucho tries to free his leg and advance position but Paulo is retaining full guard. Gaucho slips nicely into half guard. Gaucho stalling away here and it's allowed Paulo to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Gaucho trying to control but Paulo is working from the bottom. Paulo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Gaucho pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Paulo is keeping the position for now. Gaucho forces his way into half guard. Gaucho wants to lay and pray for a moment but Paulo keeps working. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gaucho is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Paulo defends it well. Paulo is staying active underneath Gaucho, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Paulo tries to roll over but Gaucho keeps him under control. Gaucho is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Paulo has managed to free his arm - good work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Paulo tries to get to full guard but Gaucho has control of the leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gaucho wants to advance to full mount but Paulo doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Gaucho trying to control but Paulo is working from the bottom. Gaucho controlling from the top position. Paulo wants to sweep here but Gaucho controlling him for the moment. Paulo can't keep his opponent in guard - Gaucho advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Paulo wants to improve his position but Gaucho is controlling well.

Paulo is not content to let Gaucho control the position. Paulo is looking for a sweep. Gaucho is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Gaucho is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Gaucho is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Paulo has managed to free his arm - good work. Paulo is refusing to be controlled, as Gaucho sits in half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Paulo is trying to get back to full guard. Gaucho is working for a kimura but Paulo is defending it quite comfortably.

Rafael Gaucho dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Gaucho tries for a takedown but Paulo circles away easily and Paulo moves into the clinch. Gaucho is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Paulo is defending well. Paulo drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Paulo is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Gaucho pulls him back up using the underhooks. Gaucho is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Paulo gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Ze Paulo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rafael Gaucho.

Paulo wants to control but Gaucho postures up. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gaucho is looking for a kimura. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gaucho. Gaucho gets caught napping as Paulo dives in and scores a takedown. Gaucho manages to retain guard. Gaucho is pulling down on Paulo's head. It's preventing any offense from Paulo, at least for the moment. Paulo postures up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Gaucho looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Gaucho takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Gaucho looks for a takedown but Paulo sprawls well. Paulo tries for a takedown but Gaucho sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Paulo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gaucho swivels and escapes. Gaucho has a takedown stuffed. Ze Paulo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rafael Gaucho.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gaucho fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Paulo avoids it really well and circles away. Horrible takedown by Gaucho or perhaps it was just good defense by Paulo which made him look bad. Paulo scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paulo working the ground and pound. Paulo looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Gaucho is avoiding damage well.
Paulo wants to control but Gaucho is keeping him busy. Gaucho can't do much from the bottom here. Paulo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Gaucho is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Paulo off and has taken his back! Gaucho is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Paulo has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Gaucho has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Paulo taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Gaucho doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Rafael Gaucho! After the fight, Rafael Gaucho was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
