PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sir Jecht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Voda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jecht comes to the cage accompanied by Pink Floyd - Young Lust. Voda has chosen Lamb of God - Walk With Me In Hell as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sir Jecht!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeremy Voda!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Voda throws out a loose jab but Jecht uses good head movement to avoid it.
Voda shoots in for a takedown but Jecht shows good takedown defense.

Voda closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jecht to the mat! Jecht manages to get full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Voda wants to pass the guard but Jecht is keeping the position.
Voda trying to control but Jecht is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Voda postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jecht looking to hit a scissor sweep but Voda is one step ahead there.
Jecht really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Voda wants to control from the top but Jecht keeps moving.
Voda slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Voda pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jecht is keeping the position for now.
Voda trying to control the position from guard on top but Jecht is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jeremy Voda was stalling too much, according to the referee.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Voda.

Voda shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Voda wants to control but Jecht is keeping him busy.
Voda missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Voda is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jecht doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Voda.

Voda is looking to advance position but Jecht won't allow it.
Jecht tries to roll over but Voda keeps him under control.

Voda is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Voda trying to mount his opponent but Jecht defends it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Voda thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jecht's head.
Voda trying to control from half guard but Jecht is working away.
Voda wants to free his trapped foot but Jecht is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Voda seems to be working for a kimura but Jecht defends the submission attempt.
Voda throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Voda not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Voda moves into full mount! Jecht won't be happy about that!
Jecht blocking the ground and pound.
Voda looking to control but Jecht is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Voda goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Jecht turns into him and now he's in Voda's guard.
Jecht will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jecht postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeremy Voda dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Voda ducks under a wild hook from Jecht.
Jecht takes a swing at Voda's ribcage but misses.
Nice straight punches there by Voda. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Voda.

Voda gets caught flat footed, as Jecht shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Voda wants to sweep but no luck.

Jecht avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Voda has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jecht can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Voda looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jecht is one step ahead there.
Jecht working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Jecht postures up.
Jeremy Voda has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jecht throwing strikes but missing.
Jecht scoring with some ground and pound.

Voda is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Voda wants to sweep but no luck.

Voda has his feet on Jecht's thighs here. He's pushed Jecht off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Jecht screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jeremy Voda!
Jeremy Voda really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Ace of Spades Clothing logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
