Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aleksander Mirskovich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fight Prototype (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aleksander Mirskovich could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Fight Prototype's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aleksander Mirskovich! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fight Prototype! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mirskovich fails to land the takedown. Mirskovich throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Mirskovich walks forward, straight into a front kick from Prototype. Mirskovich gets the takedown into side control. Prototype can't do much from the bottom here. Mirskovich wants to lay and pray for a moment but Prototype keeps working. Prototype is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Mirskovich's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Mirskovich is keen to just control but Prototype is a slippery customer. Prototype avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Mirskovich. Mirskovich thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Prototype's head. Prototype tries to roll over but Mirskovich keeps him under control. Mirskovich wants to control but Prototype is keeping him busy.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Mirskovich with a jab. Mirskovich looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Prototype is fending him off so far but Mirskovich persists. Nope, Prototype circles away and we're back to standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mirskovich keeps the fight on the outside. Mirskovich looks to land a combination but Prototype avoids it well. Some bone on bone action there as Prototype checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Prototype fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mirskovich, pushing him back against the cage. Mirskovich drops down looking for an ankle pick but Prototype pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aleksander Mirskovich. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mirskovich scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Mirskovich is breathing heavily. Prototype tries to close the distance and clinch but Mirskovich swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Mirskovich bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Prototype is not content to let Mirskovich control the position. Mirskovich fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Prototype is looking for a sweep. Mirskovich tries to score with some ground and pound. Prototype controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mirskovich postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Prototype stuffs the takedown. Prototype has managed to clinch.
Prototype has Mirskovich pushed against the cage. Mirskovich tries for a takedown. No joy.
Prototype breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Aleksander Mirskovich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Prototype tries to clinch there but Mirskovich circles away.

A left and a right from Prototype both land. Nice combination. Mirskovich shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Prototype's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Prototype utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Mirskovich trying to control but Prototype is working from the bottom. Prototype trying to control the position here. Mirskovich won't allow Prototype to sweep him here. Mirskovich has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Prototype trying to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mirskovich controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Mirskovich looking to pass the guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mirskovich shoots in for a double leg but Prototype sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Mirskovich swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
letting Prototype counter with a right hand. Prototype gets in close and instigates a clinch. Prototype lands a knee to the head.
Mirskovich has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Prototype avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Prototype unloads a knee to the mid-section. Mirskovich lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Prototype breaks from the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mirskovich fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Prototype on the side of the head. Prototype has closed the distance and engaged Mirskovich in a clinch.

That was a close round but I would say that Aleksander Mirskovich will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Prototype tries to improve position but can't. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mirskovich grinds an elbow into Prototype's temple. Mirskovich is looking to take a break and control but Prototype is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Mirskovich with a poor takedown and Prototype holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Prototype breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Mirskovich looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Prototype is fending him off so far but Mirskovich persists. Nope, Prototype circles away and we're back to standing. Prototype closes the distance and clinches. Prototype is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Mirskovich goes for a takedown attempt but Prototype pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Prototype comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Mirskovich misses with a takedown attempt and Prototype moves into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Aleksander Mirskovich will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Prototype is looking to control Mirskovich's arms but Mirskovich gets an underhook and turns him. Now Prototype has his back to the cage. Mirskovich works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Prototype bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mirskovich's guard. Prototype pushes down on Mirskovich's leg and manages to get into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Prototype lands with a punch from half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Mirskovich manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Aleksander Mirskovich overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mirskovich keeping moving, preventing Prototype from controlling successfully. Mirskovich had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Prototype is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Mirskovich Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Prototype's back instead. Prototype is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Mirskovich gets his way!
Mirskovich lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Mirskovich.
I really don't envy Prototype right now.

Mirskovich smells blood and goes for the finish - the referee warns Prototype to improve his position but he's not intelligently defending himself and the referee has no choice but to step in and end the fight! Mirskovich jumps to his feet and celebrates the important win with his cornermen!
