The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward scores with a shot to the body.
Stanley tries to clinch there but Ward circles away.

Ward gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Stanley throwing strikes but missing.
Ward is pulling down on Stanley's head. It's preventing any offense from Stanley, at least for the moment.
Ward wants to control but Stanley passes easily into half guard.
Ward tries to roll over but Stanley keeps him under control.
Stanley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ward is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stanley's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stanley's back!

Ward is controlling the position but Stanley somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
Ward is looking to take a break and control but Stanley is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ward throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Ward wants to take a breather but Stanley is having none of it.
Ward slips a nice elbow through Stanley's hands, connecting with Stanley's forehead.
