Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Billy Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timpurhkhum Chouncheun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perez comes into the arena with Spill The Wine - War blaring out of the sound system. Chouncheun has chosen พิณบรรเลง as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Billy Perez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Timpurhkhum Chouncheun! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, David Schapiro and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Chouncheun.
Chouncheun takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Chouncheun throws a leg kick but Perez checks it. Perez works Chouncheun's body with a nice hook. Timpurhkhum Chouncheun seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Perez misses with a takedown attempt - Chouncheun sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Chouncheun uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Perez. Perez checks the leg kick nicely there.
Perez gets a takedown into half guard. Perez is trying to work for a kimura but Chouncheun is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Perez with the ground and pound but Chouncheun uses the opportunity to regain guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chouncheun keeping moving, preventing Perez from controlling successfully. Perez won't allow Chouncheun to sweep him here. Perez throwing strikes but missing. Chouncheun uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Perez's guard. Nice move by Chouncheun! Chouncheun really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Perez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Chouncheun works his way back into a safe position though. Perez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Perez working for a triangle but Chouncheun defends it easily.

Chouncheun wants to get up but he can't break Perez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Perez looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Perez working for a triangle but Chouncheun defends it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Perez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Chouncheun wants to stand but Perez is controlling his posture from full guard. Perez is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Chouncheun would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Perez tries to land a sweep but no joy. Perez has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Chouncheun must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Perez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chouncheun gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Perez trying to strike off his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Perez is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Chouncheun wants to stand but Perez has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Chouncheun won't allow Perez to sweep him here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chouncheun throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Chouncheun misses with an attempted mid kick.
Both fighters circling a little - Chouncheun finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Chouncheun throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Chouncheun buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Perez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Chouncheun counters with an inside leg kick. Perez checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Chouncheun throws a low kick but Perez moves out of range easily. Perez listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Chouncheun throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Chouncheun pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. A slapping leg kick lands for Chouncheun.
Perez throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Chouncheun on the side of the head. Perez lands the left hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perez connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Perez moves out of range of the body kick from Chouncheun.
Sloppy strikes from Perez. Those never looked like landing. Perez loads up on a big right hand but Chouncheun slips the punch. Perez fails with the takedown. Timpurhkhum Chouncheun is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Perez chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Chouncheun can pounce on him.

Chouncheun lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Chouncheun throws a head kick but Perez moves out of range.
Perez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chouncheun moves away. Good standup being displayed there by Perez as he connects with a hook. Chouncheun connects with a jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chouncheun walks into a jab. Perez scores with a takedown into Chouncheun's guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Perez's corner. There ya go! There ya go! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Perez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Perez throwing strikes but missing. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chouncheun keeping moving, preventing Perez from controlling successfully. Perez working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Perez to score with a decent uppercut. Timpurhkhum Chouncheun seems to be getting the better of the standup. Chouncheun throws a leg kick which misses Perez's front leg but catches the back leg as Perez tries to avoid it. Perez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Chouncheun scores with a nice body kick.
Chouncheun lands a nice leg kick that just misses Perez's sensitive parts. Chouncheun stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Chouncheun wants it to stay on the feet. Chouncheun chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Perez shoots for a takedown but Chouncheun saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Perez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Chouncheun was covering up waiting for the punch and Perez finishes the takedown easily into guard. Chouncheun bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Perez's guard.

Chouncheun wants to stand and escape but instead Perez has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Perez is looking to work some ground and pound but Chouncheun has wrist control. Perez with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Perez trying to control but Chouncheun is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Perez showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Perez tries to free his leg and advance position but Chouncheun is retaining full guard. Perez working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Perez throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Chouncheun is pulling down on Perez's head to control his posture. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Perez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Chouncheun's waist but Chouncheun gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Perez off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Billy Perez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Chouncheun escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Perez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Chouncheun's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Perez.
