The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masterson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Spoakin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Masterson.
Spoakin walks into a left hand.
Spoakin lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Spoakin looks for the body kick but Masterson saw that one coming.
Masterson throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Spoakin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Masterson's waist but Masterson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Spoakin off to one side.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Masterson wants to improve his position but Spoakin is controlling well.
Spoakin is thwarting Masterson's attempts to control the position.
Masterson is looking for a sweep. Spoakin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Spoakin wants to take a breather but Masterson is having none of it.

Eulogy Spoakin seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Spoakin bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Spoakin smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Masterson slips a jab and a cross from Spoakin.

Masterson misses the jab.
Eulogy Spoakin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Masterson clinches up with Spoakin and pushes him back against the cage.
Masterson tries a body shot but Spoakin blocks it.
Spoakin prevents a body shot from Masterson.

Spoakin swings wildly with an uppercut but Masterson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Masterson digs a right hand underneath Spoakin's ribcage. Spoakin let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Masterson tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Spoakin's elbow.
Masterson is trying to push Spoakin away but Spoakin has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Spoakin tries to work over Masterson's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Masterson tries to circle away but Spoakin has him pinned against the cage.

Masterson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Spoakin misses with a jab to the body
and Masterson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Masterson misses with a kick to the body.
Spoakin scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Masterson misses with a low kick as Spoakin jumps back.
Sloppy strikes from Masterson. Those never looked like landing.
Ja Masterson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Spoakin ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Spoakin thuds a left hand into Masterson's body.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Spoakin.
Spoakin throws out a powerful jab.
Spoakin feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Masterson's calf.
Spoakin shoots for a double leg takedown but Masterson sprawls well. He's pushed Spoakin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
