Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andre Botha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrice Romeu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patrice Romeu will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Botha slips a jab and a cross from Romeu.
Romeu is trying hard to land a takedown here. Botha sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Romeu has taken the fight to the clinch.

Romeu turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Romeu manages to end up in side control.

Romeu tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Romeu has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Botha wants to control but Romeu postures up.
Botha sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Romeu is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Romeu wants to pass the guard but Botha is defending well.

Romeu wants to work for an arm triangle but Botha is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Romeu looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Romeu frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Romeu is working for a guillotine from mount but Botha frees his head quite easily.

Romeu is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Botha can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Romeu wants to stand but Botha is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Botha is working to get back to half guard.

Romeu wants to finish this one by submission but Botha is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Romeu.

It looks like Andre Botha has been cut.

Andre Botha's cut is getting worse.

Romeu stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Romeu tries to score a power double leg takedown but Botha sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Romeu somewhat.
Botha closes the distance looking to clinch

and Romeu counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Romeu.
Romeu lands a couple of digs.

Jeez, Andre Botha's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Romeu is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Botha is just riding it out for now. Romeu eventually gives up the hold.

Romeu shoots in for a takedown but Botha shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Botha closes the distance but Romeu moves to the side

and Romeu counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Romeu.

Botha is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Romeu manages to break the clinch.
Botha stuffs the takedown.
Botha doesn't manage to clinch there - Romeu circles away.
Botha tries to clinch up.

and Romeu counters with a one-two to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Botha tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Romeu counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Botha off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Romeu follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Botha was out before he hit the floor.
