These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newer shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Timma eats them both and turns towards Newer to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Kaspars Timma has been cut.
Timma tries to close the distance and clinch up but Newer swats him away and circles back towards the center.
