Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Botan Nishio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zoran Obradovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Botan Nishio! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zoran Obradovic! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Ren Mimura and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Obradovic lands a jab to Nishio's midsection. Nishio fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Obradovic avoids it really well and circles away. Obradovic wants to clinch up but Nishio keeps it at a distance. Obradovic turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Nishio shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Obradovic keeping moving, preventing Nishio from controlling successfully. Obradovic is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nishio working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Obradovic preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Obradovic is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nishio trying to control but Obradovic is working from the bottom. Nishio throwing strikes from guard but Obradovic blocks nicely. Nishio is looking to work some ground and pound but Obradovic has wrist control. Obradovic has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Nishio has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Obradovic tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Nishio manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Obradovic connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Obradovic, right into the meat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nishio circles away from the clinch attempt and Nishio counters with a single leg into guard. Obradovic didn't expect that. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nishio controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Obradovic is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Nishio is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Nishio postures up in Obradovic's guard and throws a big left but Obradovic blocks it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Obradovic preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Nishio is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Nishio passes easily into side control. Nice work. Nishio throws a strike aimed at the side of Obradovic's head but Obradovic avoids it well. You can see the frustration on Obradovic's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Nishio thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Obradovic avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Nishio.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nishio trying to control the position but Obradovic is working away. Nishio could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Sloppy strikes there by Nishio. Obradovic is looking to reverse the position. Nishio is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Obradovic is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Nishio misses with an attempted head punch from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Botan Nishio dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Nishio shoots for a takedown but Obradovic saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Obradovic with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Obradovic lands a really nice looking cross but Nishio seems unphased.
Nishio stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Obradovic. Obradovic scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Obradovic scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Obradovic wants to clinch. Obradovic lands a jab to the nose. Nishio shoots in for a double leg but Obradovic sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Obradovic wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nishio takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Obradovic has closed the distance and engaged Nishio in a clinch.

Obradovic lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Nishio. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Obradovic stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Obradovic throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Nishio blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Obradovic is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. A frustrated look appears on Nishio's face as he tries to break the clinch. Nishio gets control of Obradovic's arms and successfully pulls guard. Nishio will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Obradovic stays in close to Nishio's body and controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Nishio looking to control.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Zoran Obradovic wasn't active enough on the ground. Obradovic lands a slapping body shot.
Obradovic tests Nishio's chin there with a solid looking shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nishio fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Botan Nishio. That's going to take a lot out of him. Obradovic scores with a nice right hand.
Obradovic stuns Nishio with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Obradovic lands a right hook to the body.
Nishio with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Obradovic to score with a decent uppercut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Obradovic throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Nishio stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Obradovic lands a nice shot that snaps Nishio's head back.
Danga de danga de dang - Obradovic scores with a four punch combination! Jab, jab by Obradovic - just one landing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Obradovic fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Obradovic darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Nishio is rocked! Obradovic drops Nishio with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Nishio! Obradovic dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
