Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Paul Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes to the cage accompanied by call to prayer. Robinson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Redemption!!! from the movie Rocky II. Paul Smith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Smith!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roy Robinson!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robinson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Smith throws a leg kick
and Robinson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Smith pivots, looking for a leg kick but Robinson is out of range and Smith settles back down.
Smith swings for the body but Robinson moves out of range.
Smith thuds his shin into the meat of Robinson's side.
Left hook, right uppercut from Robinson.
It looks like Paul Smith has been cut.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Smith, as that shot connected.
Robinson drops Smith with a nice combination! Robinson dives into Smith's guard, looking to finish!
Smith is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Robinson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Oh Smith is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Robinson passes Smith's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Smith wants to get back to full guard but Robinson has passed into side control.
Smith takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Smith tries to buck Robinson off but Robinson is having none of it.
Robinson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Robinson moves into full mount!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Smith is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Robinson lands a big elbow - Smith is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Smith is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Roy Robinson!
