Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Beniot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beniot comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Our Lady in Peace-Whatever kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jay Daniels! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Beniot! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daniels closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Beniot's guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Daniels stopping the sweep attempt from Beniot. Daniels chips away with some ground and pound. Beniot not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Daniels drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Daniels jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Daniels stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Beniot swivels though and keeps the full guard. Beniot wants to sweep but no luck. Beniot is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Daniels's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Daniels trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Daniels working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Daniels postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Beniot looking for a sweep. Not yet Beniot, not yet. Beniot striking off his back but it's not causing Daniels any problems. Beniot working for a triangle but Daniels defends it easily.
Daniels throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Beniot works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Daniels got a little sloppy there for a moment and Beniot has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Daniels has managed to get both his arms back between Beniot's legs - danger averted. Beniot is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Beniot has momentary wrist control but Daniels slips an elbow through the middle. Daniels has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Daniels with a flurry of punches that miss. Daniels loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Daniels got a little sloppy there for a moment and Beniot has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! Daniels drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Beniot dives on top into guard. Beniot is in close to Daniels's body, working some short punches and elbows. Beniot is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Beniot works over Daniels with some ground and pound from guard. Beniot stands up over Daniels, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Beniot in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Beniot trying to control but Daniels is working from the bottom. Beniot pushes down on Daniels's leg and manages to get into half guard. Daniels actively working from the bottom here. Beniot is trying to control. Daniels wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Daniels taking some punishment here, with Beniot in his half guard. Daniels tries to kick Beniot off but Beniot keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Beniot landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Beniot sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Daniels defending well though. Daniels on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Beniot lands a nice short elbow. Beniot wants to take a breather but Daniels is having none of it. Daniels wants to get back to his feet. Beniot thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Daniels's head. Daniels looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Beniot tries to pass the half guard into mount. Daniels knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Beniot working over Daniels with some ground and pound. Daniels looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Beniot working the head and body with strikes. Beniot is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Daniels is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Beniot pulls his head out easily. Beniot uses his free foot to push down on Daniels's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Daniels. Daniels is wriggling around trying to escape.
Beniot pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Beniot cracks Daniels with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Beniot takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Beniot lands a couple of good shots and Daniels has given up his back, trying to escape the position! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Beniot has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Daniels. Beniot lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Daniels.
Beniot punishes Daniels with strikes from the back mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Beniot dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Beniot manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Daniels on his heels. He'll look to pass Daniels's guard now, I'm sure. Beniot controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Daniels trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Daniels is looking for a triangle but Beniot pushes his legs off easily.
Daniels has his foot on Beniot's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Beniot works his way back into a safe position though. Beniot content to stall in guard here. Daniels is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Daniels keeping moving, preventing Beniot from controlling successfully. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Daniels is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Beniot frees his head nicely. Oh but Daniels has switched to an armbar! Beniot is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
