Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mateus Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brett Swayze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mateus Allen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brett Swayze!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen swinging wildly here.
Swayze misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Allen.

Allen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Allen is putting a hurting on Swayze here, landing some big shots from side control.
Swayze tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Swayze parries the strikes from Allen easily there. Allen is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Swayze to escape.

Allen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Swayze is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Allen postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Swayze takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Swayze is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Allen laying and praying for a moment but Swayze takes advantage and regains half guard.
Allen winds up and cracks Swayze with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Allen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Allen is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

We're going to have a standup here because Mateus Allen wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Horrible takedown by Allen or perhaps it was just good defense by Swayze which made him look bad.

Allen cracks Swayze with a big right hand but Swayze just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Swayze throws a leg kick but Allen sees it coming and moves out of range.
Allen catches Swayze with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Allen checks a leg kick.

Swayze tries to buck Allen off but Allen is having none of it.
Allen looks up at the clock and then as Swayze takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Allen smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Allen is trying to ground and pound but Swayze uses the momentary lack of control by Allen to regain half guard.
Allen is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Mateus Allen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Allen stops Swayze from standing up.
Swayze looking to control.
Swayze wants to stand up but Allen is controlling him.
Allen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Swayze throws a leg kick but Allen sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Swayze tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Allen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Swayze tries a head kick but it misses.
Brett Swayze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Allen looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Swayze!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mateus Allen wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Allen takes a swing at Swayze's ribcage but misses.
Allen checks the leg kick nicely there.
Swayze misses with a low kick.
Allen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Swayze sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Allen somewhat.
Swayze turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Brett Swayze has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Allen counters with a nice double leg into guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mateus Allen showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Allen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
