Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Mr John Doe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
28 - 19 - 1, fighting out of London, Jeff Sobchak ! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Phil Schofield and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sobchak circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sobchak avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Doe looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sobchak swats away the attempt to clinch by Doe. Doe scores with a hook.
It looks like Jeff Sobchak has been cut. Sobchak gets a double leg takedown into Doe's guard. Doe utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Doe is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sobchak is aware though and is defending well. Sobchak working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sobchak pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Doe is keeping the position for now. Sobchak throwing strikes but missing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sobchak working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Doe keeping moving, preventing Sobchak from controlling successfully. Sobchak postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Doe can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sobchak controls the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Doe is looking for a triangle here but Sobchak uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sobchak tries to score with some ground and pound. Doe controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Sobchak working the ground and pound but Doe is defending the strikes. Sobchak creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Doe sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Doe is letting Sobchak control him for a moment. Sobchak wants to lay and pray for a moment but Doe keeps working. Sobchak misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Sobchak looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Doe is avoiding damage well.
Doe avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Sobchak . Doe is looking to reverse the position. Sobchak cracks Doe with a big elbow. Doe can't do much from the bottom here. Doe manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Doe avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Sobchak . Sobchak thows a huge punch but Doe dodges it nicely.
Doe is breathing heavily. Sobchak is taking a breather. Doe says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Sobchak thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Sobchak is looking to stall here but Doe recovers full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Doe looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jeff Sobchak dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jeff Sobchak 's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Doe checks the leg kick nicely there.
Doe tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Sobchak manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Doe tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sobchak paws at him with a jab and circles away. Sobchak throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Sobchak is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Doe misses with a jab, cross combination.
Doe is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sobchak sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Doe moves out of range as Sobchak throws a body kick.
Doe tries to clinch but Sobchak is having none of it. Doe throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Sobchak scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sobchak fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Doe, pushing him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. A battle for position here, against the cage. Doe takes an elbow to the forehead. Sobchak throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Doe blocks it with crossed arms. Sobchak landing knees to the head.
It looks like Mr John Doe has been cut. Sobchak lands with a short head shot on the inside. Sobchak unloads a knee to the mid-section. Doe lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Sobchak scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Doe is rocked! Sobchak turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Oh Doe is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Sobchak in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Doe looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Sobchak turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jeff Sobchak ! After the big win, Jeff Sobchak made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors Golden Supplements and telling the interviewer how much he loves him.
