Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stan Marsh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alex Karelin! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Illya Tyunina and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marsh sends Karelin crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Marsh is motioning to the referee to let Karelin up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Karelin is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Marsh fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Karelin is still on wobbly legs! Can Marsh finish him? Marsh dodges the punch combination from Karelin.
Karelin seems to have recovered his senses. Karelin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Marsh's waist but Marsh gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Karelin off to one side. Marsh really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Karelin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Marsh tries to avoid it but Karelin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Marsh to the ground. Marsh escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Horrible takedown by Karelin or perhaps it was just good defense by Marsh which made him look bad. Stan Marsh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Karelin. Marsh keeps the fight on the outside. Marsh drops Karelin with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Karelin looks back up at him and smiles so Marsh waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Marsh stuns Karelin with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Marsh jabs at Karelin's body. Karelin looks winded! Marsh moves in close and cracks Karelin with a massive right hand! Karelin, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Marsh!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Stan Marsh! During a confident post fight interview, Stan Marsh thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
