Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brodus Clay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mir comes to the cage accompanied by Spoilin For A Fight . Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
23 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Frank Mir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brodus Clay! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yuuki Gou and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clay loads up on a big right hand but Mir slips the punch. Clay keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. A looping hook to the body misses from Clay. Mir does a little dance to reset his feet. Mir changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Clay tries to avoid it but Mir manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Clay to the ground. Clay escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Mir shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Clay defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him. Clay misses with an uppercut
and Mir counters with a two punch combo. Clay throws a leg kick that misses. Clay lands with an uppercut that bounces Mir off the cage and back into range.
It looks like Frank Mir has been cut. Clay missing with a left hand there. Mir was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Brodus Clay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Clay jabbing away but nothing is landing. Mir has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Mir there as he acknowledges the shot. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Clay throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Clay stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Mir. Mir takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Mir scores with a takedown into Clay's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Mir showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir looking to pass the guard. Mir trying to control but Clay is working from the bottom. Mir trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mir wants to control from the top but Clay keeps moving. Mir looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

We're going to have a standup here because Frank Mir wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Mir shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mir showed some decent athleticism there. Mir missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Mir trying to control the action but Clay is working from the bottom. Mir missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Mir lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mir works his way into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mir swings around for an armbar but Clay sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mir's guard. Mir is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Clay is aware though and is defending well. Mir has his foot on Clay's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Clay works his way back into a safe position though. Clay got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mir has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Clay has managed to get both his arms back between Mir's legs - danger averted. Mir escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Clay gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Mir has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Clay can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mir throws his legs up looking for a submission but Clay uses it to pass to side control.
Clay tries to stand but Mir is controlling his head. Clay slows the pace down. Clay decides to take the fight back to the feet. Brodus Clay is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Mir misses with a lunging right hand
and Clay cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Clay throws a jab but it's blocked by Mir. Clay paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Clay misses the shot to the body. Clay takes a swing at Mir's ribcage but misses. Mir shoots in for a takedown but Clay shows good takedown defense. Clay lands a slapping body shot.
Mir fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Clay manages to avoid it. Clay misses with a few strikes there.
Clay will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Clay misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mir.
Clay swings for the body but Mir moves out of range.
Clay uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mir.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Clay throws a lazy right hand but Mir sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Clay fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mir keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Clay throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Excellent takedown into side control there by Mir. Mir working the body and head with strikes. Mir misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Clay seems a little lost for a moment, as Mir dominates the positioning. Mir fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Clay is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Mir taking a breather here. Mir tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mir laying and praying for a moment but Clay takes advantage and regains half guard. Mir thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Mir has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Clay blocking the ground and pound. Mir throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Mir lands a big shot there that rocks Clay but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Mir raining down shots from the mount! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Clay is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Clay blocking the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Mir takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Clay really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Clay is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Mir is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Clay has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Clay! Mir controls Clay momentarily but Clay frees himself. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mir throws his legs up looking for a submission but Clay uses it to pass to side control.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mir in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Mir scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mir slips under a jab from Clay. Mir takes one on the button. Clay throws a jab but it's blocked by Mir. Clay throws a poor cross that misses
so Mir counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Mir trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Mir wants to control from the top but Clay keeps moving. Mir is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mir trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Clay keeping moving, preventing Mir from controlling successfully. Clay preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Mir pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Clay is keeping the position for now. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mir trying to control the position from guard on top but Clay is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mir looking to sit in guard and control but Clay gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Mir looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Clay puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Clay postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Mir to stand up. Clay takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Clay thows a body shot but no joy. Clay throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mir thuds his right hand into Clay's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Mir shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Clay as he avoids it easily. Mir takes one to the side of the head.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Mir tries to score a power double leg takedown but Clay sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mir somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him. Clay misses with a looping right. Clay throws a hook to the side of Mir's head but Mir sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Mir closes this distance looking for a takedown but Clay circles away. Mir has a takedown stuffed. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mir blocks a jab. Clay lands a jab to the nose.
Frank Mir's cut is getting worse. A jab from Clay does it's job there. Clay throws a combination that misses letting Mir counter with a right hand. Mir takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Clay swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Clay rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Clay throws a chopping leg kick but Mir manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Mir is trying hard to land a takedown here. Clay sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Mir staying out of range there. Clay's corner calls for a 1-2. Clay obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Frank Mir's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Clay lands a jab. A right-left combo lands from Clay. Clay scores with a jab. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Clay throws a sloppy body shot
enabling Mir to counter with a crisp jab. Clay closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Clay misses with a low kick.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Clay. No joy for Mir on that attempt. A big left from Clay misses. Mir has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Mir there as he acknowledges the shot.
Jeez, Frank Mir's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Mir shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Clay but Clay pushes him off and we're back to square one. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Clay swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mir. Mir closes the distance and clinches up with Clay, looking for a takedown. Mir pushes Clay against the cage but Clay circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Clay takes a swing at Mir's ribcage but misses. Clay looks to score with a jab to the body but Mir is just out of range. Clay scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Mir moves away from the strike by Clay.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Mir shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Clay but Clay pushes him off and we're back to square one. Clay lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Frank Mir's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 9:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Brodus Clay!
