Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Venable! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Mir IV! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Venable looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Venable is looking to clinch. Venable clinches up with Mir IV and pushes him back against the cage. Venable stalling the fight.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Venable. Mir IV managing to block the knees to the body from Venable.

It looks like Frank Mir IV has been cut. Venable breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Venable pushes Mir IV up against the cage in a clinch. Mir IV is looking to break free of the clinch but Venable has double underhooks. Venable misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Mir IV.

Mir IV blocks an elbow strike. Venable missing with knees to the body.
Venable makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Venable stops a takedown attempt from Mir IV.
Anthony Venable has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Mir IV. Mir IV tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Venable pushes Mir IV back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Mir IV tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Venable just stands there and leans against the cage. Venable lands an elbow inside. A short right hand to the side of the head by Venable.
That has opened up Frank Mir IV's cut even more. Mir IV drags the fight down to the ground.
Mir IV escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Venable gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Mir IV looking for a triangle here. Venable is fighting it but it looks tight! Mir IV pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Venable is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Frank Mir IV!
