Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Steve Turner!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Turner rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Jones counters with a big head kick but Turner shrugs it off.

Jones clinches up against the cage.
Turner keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jones's efforts to push away.

Turner gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Jones is trying to maintain the position but Turner is very close to passing his half guard.
Jones is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones landing strikes from the bottom.
Jones trying to control but Turner postures up.
Turner is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Jones is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Turner scores with a couple of nice shots.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Turner working over Jones with some ground and pound. Jones looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Jones is looking for a sweep. Turner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Turner scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Turner is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Jones reverses the position - he's now on top in Turner's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones wants to stand but Turner is controlling his posture from full guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Steve Turner wasn't active enough on the ground.
Jones avoids the head kick by Turner.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jones throws a head kick that misses.
Jones uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Turner.
Turner shoots for a takedown but Jones saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jones stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Turner leaves Jones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Turner stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Turner wants it to stay on the feet.

Turner shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jones's guard.
Turner has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Turner connects with a couple of short punches.

Turner landing with the ground and pound.
Turner controls from within his opponent's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Turner sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Turner's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Turner postures up and lands a big shot to Jones's brow.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Turner looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Turner scoring with punches to the head and body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve Turner dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Jones gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Turner to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Turner is working Jones over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Turner with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Turner scores with a decent looking elbow strike.


Jones is rocked!
Turner working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Oh Jones is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Turner forces his way into half guard.
Turner passes to side control.
Steve Turner has got the better of the ground game so far.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Turner is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Jones is trying to escape and Turner transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Jones is forced to tap! Nice work there by Turner! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Steve Turner!
In his post fight interview, Steve Turner started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
