The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sarbinov fails with a takedown attempt.
Mikhail Sarbinov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A decent looking cross lands there for Thompson.
Sarbinov closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sarbinov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thompson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sarbinov bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Thompson's guard.
Sarbinov drops back, looking for a kneebar! Thompson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Thompson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Thompson!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jackson Thompson.
I think Sarbinov has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
