Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Al Bartlett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Houk moves away from the strike by Bartlett.
Houk walks into a stiff left hand from Bartlett.
Houk looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bartlett is fending him off so far but Houk persists. Nope, Bartlett circles away and we're back to standing.
Houk misses with a takedown attempt
and Bartlett counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Bartlett dives in and scores a takedown into Houk's guard.
Bartlett stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Houk swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bartlett slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Bartlett throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Bartlett scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Houk to see if he's OK.

Houk tries to bench press Bartlett off him but Bartlett keeps the position.

Bartlett looks up at the clock and then as Houk takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Bartlett smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Bartlett cracks Houk with a big right hand but Houk just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Houk is trying to improve his position.
Bartlett works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Bartlett wants to lay and pray for a moment but Houk keeps working.

Bartlett lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Houk down.
Bartlett is looking to take a break and control but Houk is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A big shot lands for Bartlett! That's hurt Houk! Will he recover? Bartlett fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
