Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Deans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz comes to the cage accompanied by Calvin Harris - Feel So Close (Nero Remix). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dick Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luke Deans!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deans looks to land a combination but Diaz avoids it well.
Diaz shoots for a takedown but Deans saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Some wild striking there from Deans.
Diaz misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Diaz has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dick Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Deans throws an overhand right that lands on Diaz's shoulder, as Diaz tries to avoid the shot.

Deans scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Diaz is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Diaz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Deans is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Diaz is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Deans lands a nice short elbow.

Deans wants to take a breather but Diaz is having none of it.
Diaz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Deans is working away from the top position though.

Diaz is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Deans pulls his head out easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Deans wants to control but Diaz is keeping him busy.

Diaz is looking for a triangle but Deans pushes his legs off easily.
Deans passes Diaz's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Deans is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Diaz sees it coming and defends easily.

Diaz is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Deans pulls his head out easily.

Deans is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Diaz has hold of Deans's hands but Deans slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Deans scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Deans is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Diaz is defending against the submission attempts here by Deans.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Deans blocks the strikes from Diaz.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luke Deans dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Deans keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Deans closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Diaz to the mat! Diaz manages to get full guard.

Deans got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diaz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Deans has managed to get both his arms back between Diaz's legs - danger averted.

Deans distracts Diaz with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.


Diaz is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Deans postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Diaz covers up, he's hurt! Deans keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Deans and the ref steps in to end the fight! Deans can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luke Deans!
After the fight, Luke Deans was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
