Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between That Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Van Der Hoef (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guy kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Walk by Pantera. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, That Guy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rafael Van Der Hoef!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. Van Der Hoef catches Guy right on the button with a cross.
Guy misses with a double jab.

Guy shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Guy showed some decent athleticism there.
Van Der Hoef blocking the ground and pound attempt from Guy.

Van Der Hoef is doing well to control the position and prevent Guy from advancing to side control.

Guy seems to be looking for submissions.
Guy throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Guy is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Van Der Hoef sees it coming and defends easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Van Der Hoef has hold of Guy's hands but Guy slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Guy tries to pass the half guard into mount. Van Der Hoef knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Guy looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Van Der Hoef with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Van Der Hoef is trying to get back to full guard.

Guy looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Van Der Hoef is defending against the submission attempts here by Guy.

Guy is looking for a kimura but Van Der Hoef is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Guy to get the leverage.

Guy is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Van Der Hoef doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Guy.
Van Der Hoef is concentrating on defense, preventing Guy from advancing position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Van Der Hoef wants to control but Guy is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Guy is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Van Der Hoef lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Van Der Hoef.
Guy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Van Der Hoef pinned against the cage. Van Der Hoef gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Van Der Hoef feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Guys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Guy tries for a takedown but Van Der Hoef sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Van Der Hoef jabs Guy to the body, keeping him at a distance.
That Guy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Van Der Hoef misses the shot to the body.
Van Der Hoef keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Van Der Hoef is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Guy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Van Der Hoef's guard.

Van Der Hoef is trying to control the position but Guy postures up.
Guy throws an elbow that misses. Van Der Hoef uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Guy's guard. Nice move by Van Der Hoef!
Van Der Hoef looking to sit in guard and control but Guy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Guy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Van Der Hoef is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Guy throws a big elbow that misses.

Guy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Van Der Hoef manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Guy has Van Der Hoef in his guard.

Guy has his foot on Van Der Hoef's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Van Der Hoef works his way back into a safe position though.

Guy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That Guy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Van Der Hoef throws a sloppy strike and Guy has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Van Der Hoef is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Guy!
