Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thiago Khan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marvin Stanley! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Khan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Stanley is trying to improve his position. Khan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Khan tries for a kimura but Stanley is defending well. Stanley is trying to improve his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Khan is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Stanley has escaped the position, nice work there. Stanley manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Stanley actively working from the bottom here. Stanley is looking for a sweep. Khan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Stanley wants to control but Khan is keeping busy.

That's one minute gone in the round. Stanley gets full guard. Khan looking to pass the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Khan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stanley has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Khan has managed to get both his arms back between Stanley's legs - danger averted. Stanley seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Stanley keeping full guard, as Khan tries to pass. Khan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Khan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Stanley escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Khan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Stanley has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Khan should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Stanley has tightened it up now! Khan should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Marvin Stanley! A relieved looking Marvin Stanley thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
