Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mikhail Maeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Cannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mikhail Maeda! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luke Cannon! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Eddie Farnsworth and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cannon decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Maeda is trying to maintain the position but Cannon is very close to passing his half guard. Maeda is defending against the submission attempts here by Cannon.
Maeda tries to roll over but Cannon keeps him under control. Cannon is thwarting Maeda's attempts to control the position. Cannon seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Maeda trying to control here.

Mikhail Maeda has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Nice uppercut there from Cannon. Cannon throws a head kick but Maeda moves out of range.

Cannon tries to stand and escape but Maeda is controlling the position. Maeda slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Luke Cannon. Maeda gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cannon to score an easy takedown into full guard. Maeda is trying to control the position but Cannon postures up. Cannon wants to control from the top but Maeda keeps moving. Cannon pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Maeda is keeping the position for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maeda is trying to control the position but Cannon postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Luke Cannon was stalling too much, according to the referee. Maeda takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Cannon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Maeda manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cannon not doing much here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Maeda is pressing down on Cannon's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Cannon enables Maeda to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cannon manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Maeda stopping the sweep attempt from Cannon. Cannon working for a triangle but Maeda defends it easily.
Maeda prevents Cannon from getting back to his feet. Maeda trying to control but Cannon is working from the bottom. Cannon trying to control the position here. Maeda trying to control but Cannon is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mikhail Maeda. Maeda misses with a takedown attempt and Cannon counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Cannon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Cannon gets a takedown into half guard. Maeda wants to control but Cannon is keeping busy and won't allow it. Cannon trying to control the pace.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Luke Cannon wasn't active enough on the ground. Cannon looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Cannon throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Maeda tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Cannon is in Maeda's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maeda is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cannon defends well. Maeda keeping moving, preventing Cannon from controlling successfully. Maeda is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cannon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Cannon tries to free his leg and advance position but Maeda is retaining full guard. Maeda manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cannon manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Maeda throws a strike but Cannon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Maeda is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cannon defends well. Maeda wants to control but Cannon passes easily into half guard.
Cannon is working for a submission of some sort.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Maeda is trying to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luke Cannon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Maeda makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Maeda. Cannon tries to stand but Maeda is controlling from the bottom. Cannon seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Maeda is trying to maintain the position but Cannon is very close to passing his half guard. Maeda works his way to full guard. Good work. Cannon's corner is telling him to maintain position. Cannon trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cannon pushing down on Maeda's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Cannon has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Cannon wants to control the pace but Maeda is squirming around nicely. Maeda is in all sorts of trouble here.

Maeda pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Cannon taps out and this one is all over!
