PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Camel Monkey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Colin Booth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Camel Monkey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Colin Booth!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Viktor Lagutenko and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monkey throws a hook but Booth blocks it.
Booth misses with a takedown

and Monkey counters with a nice double leg into side control. Booth won't be happy with that.
Booth being controlled for a moment.
Monkey cracks Booth with a big right hand but Booth just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Booth tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Monkey presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Monkey is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Booth can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Monkey has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Monkey cracks Booth with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.


It looks like Colin Booth has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Monkey tries to control but Booth wriggling away.
Booth tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Booth taking shots to the head.

Booth is trying desperately to improve position.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Monkey lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.


That has opened up Colin Booth's cut even more.
Monkey scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Booth?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Booth tries to lock up and control but Monkey gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Booth keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Monkey swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Booth is now in Monkey's guard. A big mistake from Monkey there, giving up the dominant position!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Monkey is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Booth postures up.

Booth postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Monkey is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Booth, into his guard.

Booth is looking for a triangle here but Monkey uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Booth takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Monkey scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Booth to see if he's OK.

Booth takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Booth really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Monkey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Monkey has hold of Booth's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Booth seems comfortable defending it but Monkey has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Booth is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Booth is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Monkey couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Camel Monkey!
