Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marcel Cerdan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cerdan comes to the cage accompanied by French National Anthem. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
23 - 11 - 2, fighting out of New York, Marcel Cerdan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Adam Gracie! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Eddie Farnsworth and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cerdan checks the leg kick. Cerdan misses with an uppercut
enabling Gracie to counter with a crisp jab. Cerdan feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Gracies jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Cerdan blocks a leg kick. Cerdan clinches. Gracie swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Gracie scores with a shoulder strike. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Cerdan. Cerdan scores with a shoulder strike. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Cerdan. Gracie blocking some punches.
Gracie scores with a nice hook to the head. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Gracie takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Cerdan misses with a short punch on the inside. Cerdan blocks an uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cerdan lands with a light punch inside. Gracie wants to stall.
Cerdan swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Gracie has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cerdan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Gracie jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cerdan walks away with a smile on his face. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Cerdan bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gracie's head. Cerdan throws a shot to the body.
Gracie slips under a jab. Cerdan scores with the left hand. Gracie knows he should have avoided that one. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cerdan misses with a lunging right hand
and Gracie counters with a low kick, right behind Cerdan 's knee. Cerdan misses with a looping left. Cerdan thuds a left hand into Gracie's body. Gracie throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cerdan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gracie is in Cerdan's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie with a flurry of punches that miss. Cerdan wants to stand and escape but Gracie is having none of it. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gracie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Gracie slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Cerdan keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully. Gracie might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cerdan haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Gracie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Adam Gracie wasn't active enough on the ground. Cerdan takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Gracie dives in and grabs Cerdan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cerdan pushes down on Gracie's head and hops out. Marcel Cerdan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Gracie. Cerdan misses the shot to the body. A swing and a miss from Cerdan. Gracie changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cerdan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Cerdan is not content to let Gracie control the position. Cerdan is trying to escape and get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The strikes coming from Gracie are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Gracie landing a few strikes. Gracie throwing shots but missing, from side control. Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Gracie is working to tighten is grip on Cerdan's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Cerdan has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Gracie is really squeezing tight and eventually Cerdan passes out! Gracie breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Adam Gracie! Our winner, Adam Gracie, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
