Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Atticus Jax (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Warby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Atticus Jax has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Atticus Jax seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Warby tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jax paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jax gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Jax lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Warby has hold of Jax's hands but Jax slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Jax is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Jax moves into full mount! Warby won't be happy about that!

Warby has one foot on Jax's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Jax changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Warby tries to avoid it but Jax manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Warby to the ground. Warby escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jax shoots for a double leg takedown but Warby sprawls well. He's pushed Jax's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jax looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Warby is fending him off so far but Jax persists. Nope, Warby circles away and we're back to standing.

Jax explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Jax shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Warby as he avoids it easily.

Warby lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Jax backwards.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Atticus Jax will probably get the nod.

Warby shoots in looking for a takedown. Jax tries to sprawl out of it but Warby keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jax manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jax misses with a takedown attempt - Warby sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Jax changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Warby looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Warby can't do much from the bottom here.
Jax thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Warby manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Jax is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Jax fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Warby sprawls well initially but Jax persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Warby is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jax is controlling him.
Warby is pulling down on Jax's head. It's preventing any offense from Jax, at least for the moment.

Warby is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jax off and has taken his back!

Warby is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

What can Jax do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

That was a close second round but I would say that Atticus Jax will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Warby tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Warby crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Jax - the referee stops the clock and Warby gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Jax. Warby manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Warby clinches up with Jax and pushes him back against the cage.
Warby tries to pull guard but Jax won't allow it.
Warby wants to stall.
Warby wants to break free but Jax has control.
Jax tries to land knees in the clinch but Warby avoids the damage to the body.
Warby has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jax uses from the top position.
