Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between King Peter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sandy Hook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for King Peter has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, King Peter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sandy Hook!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Alyssa Summers and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peter wants to clinch.
Peter shoots for a double leg takedown but Hook sprawls well. He's pushed Peter's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Peter closes the distance and clinches up with Hook, looking for a takedown. Peter pushes Hook against the cage but Hook circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hook on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Peter. Peter obviously looking to wear him down.
Hook wants to clinch up but Peter keeps it at a distance.
Hook swats away the attempt to clinch by Peter.
Peter looks to clinch

and Hook counters with a shoot takedown. Peter fights it but they end up in guard.
Hook loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Hook wants to get up but he can't break Peter's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Hook stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peter swivels though and keeps the full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Peter working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Hook has passed into half guard!

Hook is thwarting Peter's attempts to control the position.
Hook wants to stand up but Peter is controlling the position.
Hook looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Hook is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Peter has managed to free his arm - good work.
Hook content to control rather than advance.

Hook looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Peter wants to get back to his feet.
Peter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hook is trying to control the action in half guard but Peter is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Hook is looking to stall here but Peter recovers full guard.
Hook content to stall in guard here.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Sandy Hook.

Hook bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Hook goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Peter rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hook's guard! Nice work there by Peter!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Peter trying to control but Hook is working from the bottom.

Hook manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Peter manages to get himself to full guard.
Hook slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Hook passes into half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Peter is looking to get back to full guard here but Hook has managed to pass to side control instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Hook fails with the takedown.
Hook stuffs the takedown attempt from Peter. Peter gets slowly back to his feet.

Hook moves into the clinch.

Peter ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Peter no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Hook has eaten all the pies!
Hook wants to stand but Peter is controlling his posture from full guard.
Hook wants to pass the guard but Peter is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Peter looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Peter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hook's guard.
Hook trying to keep a closed guard but Peter is proving a slippery customer.
Peter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Peter avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Peter trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Hook bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Peter's guard.
Hook with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Hook is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Hook throwing strikes but missing.
Peter is trying to keep Hook in close.
Hook wants to control from the top but Peter keeps moving.

Hook stands and throws Peter's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Hook tries to stand but Peter is controlling his head.
Hook is breathing heavily.
Peter gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Peter tries to kick Hook off but Hook keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Peter is looking to improve his position.
Hook has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Peter sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Peter controlling the position well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Peter tries to get to full guard but Hook has control of the leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Sandy Hook will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Peter looks to clinch

and Hook counters with a nice double leg into side control. Peter won't be happy with that.
Hook advances to mount.
Peter tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Hook with a couple of short strikes.
The referee warns Peter that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hook working for a guillotine from mount but Peter is in no mood to give up.
Hook controlling the position easily from mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hook avoids the attempt from Peter to control.

Hook is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Peter is surviving well by controlling Hook's body position as best he can.
Peter is squirming around, avoiding Hook's attempts to control the action.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hook cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Peter is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Hook looking to control and managing it successfully.
Hook breaks from Peter's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hook breaks from Peter's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Hook pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Sandy Hook has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hook controlling from the full mount.

Peter is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Hook landing shots from mount.
Hook trying to control but Peter is having none of it.
Peter is in a horrible position here. Hook smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Hook sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Hook landing punches.
Hook lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Peter hang on?
Hook tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hook fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Peter in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hook looking to control but Peter is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Sandy Hook comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
