PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Felipe Caotico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Remy Banjasky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caotico's entrance music is The Mexican Hat Dance. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banjasky looks to clinch

and Caotico moves into the clinch.

Caotico has Banjasky pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Caotico pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Banjasky tumbling to the mat - Caotico dives into Banjasky's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Caotico has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Caotico tries to free his leg and advance position but Banjasky is retaining full guard.
Banjasky wants to get back to his feet but Caotico is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Caotico might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Caotico accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Caotico throws a strike aimed at the side of Banjasky's head but Banjasky avoids it well.

Banjasky is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Caotico is controlling him well.

Caotico closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Banjasky did well to prevent Caotico getting side control.

Caotico seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Banjasky for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Banjasky misses with an attempted mid kick.
Caotico throws a low kick, looking for Banjasky's leg but Banjasky calmly moves out of range.
Banjasky throws a sloppy head kick and Caotico moves out of range easily.
Caotico tries to score a power double leg takedown but Banjasky sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Caotico somewhat.

Banjasky is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Caotico gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Banjasky regains guard.
Banjasky can't keep his opponent in guard - Caotico advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Caotico's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Banjasky lands a head kick!

Caotico drives through with a takedown into Banjasky's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Caotico slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Caotico is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Banjasky looks calm but he's in trouble here. Caotico gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Banjasky is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Caotico lets go of the hold and Banjasky can pop his arm back in it's socket.

After winning the bout, Felipe Caotico thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
