PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Glenn Stroud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oleg Aschenbreaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stroud comes to the cage accompanied by Septic Flesh - Pyramid God. The crowd seem to be enjoying Aschenbreaker's choice of entrance music: Feuer Frei. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Oleg Aschenbreaker!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Donald Grub and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aschenbreaker fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Stroud wants to clinch
and Aschenbreaker counters with a left to the body.
Stroud throws out a loose jab but Aschenbreaker uses good head movement to avoid it.
Aschenbreaker leaves Stroud with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Aschenbreaker looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Aschenbreaker looking to score a takedown here. Stroud is defending well but Aschenbreaker drives through and ends up in Stroud's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Aschenbreaker controlling from the top position.
Stroud is trying to keep Aschenbreaker in close.
Aschenbreaker wants to control from the top but Stroud keeps moving.

Aschenbreaker is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Oleg Aschenbreaker wasn't active enough on the ground.

Aschenbreaker looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Stroud!
Aschenbreaker content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Aschenbreaker tries to move into full mount but can't pass Stroud's legs.
Stroud wants to control but Aschenbreaker postures up.

Stroud is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Aschenbreaker is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Stroud tries to improve position but can't.
Aschenbreaker is looking to take a break and control but Stroud is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Stroud wants to get back to his feet but Aschenbreaker drags him back down.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Aschenbreaker working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Stroud is in a horrible position here. Aschenbreaker smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Stroud tries to hold on but Aschenbreaker postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Stroud regains half guard.
Aschenbreaker is thwarting Stroud's attempts to control the position.
Aschenbreaker is trying to control the action in half guard but Stroud is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stroud wants to get back to full guard but Aschenbreaker has mounted him!
Stroud tries to hold on but Aschenbreaker postures up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oleg Aschenbreaker dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Stroud connects with a body shot that sends Aschenbreaker's belly button to the back.

Aschenbreaker lands with a hook. Stroud tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Stroud throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Aschenbreaker counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Stroud keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Aschenbreaker fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Stroud to the ground. Aschenbreaker is now in Stroud's guard.

Stroud looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Stroud is controlling Aschenbreaker's posture.

Aschenbreaker trying to control but Stroud is working from the bottom.
Aschenbreaker has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Stroud is proving hard to escape from.
Aschenbreaker not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Oleg Aschenbreaker hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Aschenbreaker shoots in for a takedown but Stroud shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Stroud fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Aschenbreaker staying out of range there.
Stroud waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Aschenbreaker.
Stroud throws a left and a right that both miss
and Aschenbreaker cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Stroud keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Glenn Stroud has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oleg Aschenbreaker.

Aschenbreaker gets caught napping as Stroud dives in and scores a takedown. Aschenbreaker manages to retain guard.
Stroud postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Aschenbreaker looking to control.
Aschenbreaker can't keep his opponent in guard - Stroud advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Stroud misses with a head shot. Aschenbreaker uses the momentum to regain guard.
Stroud scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Stroud content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Stroud throws a big right hand that misses.

Aschenbreaker looking for a triangle here. Stroud is fighting it but it looks tight! Aschenbreaker pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Stroud is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Oleg Aschenbreaker!
Oleg Aschenbreaker decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
