Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 16 - 1, fighting out of London, Steven Walter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Machin! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machin shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Walter rushes Machin and presses him up against the cage. Walter scores a nice knee to the body.

Machin wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Machin trying to control the position but instead, Walter has worked for underhooks and has pushed Machin into the cage. Machin stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Walter tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Machin working hard to break the clinch. Machin has hold of one of Walter's legs. Walter is fighting the takedown attempt but Machin gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Machin stops Walter from standing up. Machin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Walter is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Machin, into his guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Machin is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Machin is trying to control the position but Walter postures up. Machin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Walter trying to stand up but can't free himself from Machin's guard. Walter gets to his feet. Machin looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Walter avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Machin chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Walter can pounce on him.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Machin manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Walter on his heels. He'll look to pass Walter's guard now, I'm sure. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Machin throws a strike but Walter rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Machin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Walter defends it easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Walter got a little sloppy there for a moment and Machin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Walter has managed to get both his arms back between Machin's legs - danger averted. Walter wants to stand but Machin is controlling his posture from full guard. Machin is looking for a triangle but Walter pushes his legs off easily.
Machin has a closed guard, preventing Walter from standing up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Machin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Walter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Machin is looking for a triangle but Walter pushes his legs off easily.
Walter wanted to stand there but Machin had control of the position. Walter gets to his feet - Machin follows without any prompting. Walter is looking to clinch but Machin is avoiding it.
Machin swats away the attempt to clinch by Walter. Machin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Walter darts in and clinches Machin up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walter creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Machin's defenses. Machin tries to throw a body punch but Walter avoids it by throwing Machin back against the cage. Walter tries to land knees in the clinch but Machin avoids the damage to the body. Walter tries to break free but Machin pushes him back against the cage. Walter lands with a right to the head. Walter stops a takedown attempt from Machin.
Steven Walter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Machin. Walter misses with a knee to the head. Machin tries to score a body lock takedown but Walter shows good agility there to stay on his feet. This has been an exciting period of action! Walter tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Machin avoids it. Machin jumps guard and drags Walter to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Walter wanted to stand there but Machin had control of the position. Walter has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Machin throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Walter gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Steven Walter will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Walter slaps away a takedown attempt from Machin, before circling back to the center of the mat. Machin tries for a takedown but Walter circles away easily and Walter counters with a head kick. That will keep Machin thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Machin swats away the attempt to clinch by Walter. Machin scores with a takedown into Walter's guard. Walter wants to get back to his feet but Machin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Machin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Walter's head. Walter wants to get back to his feet but Machin is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Machin trying to control but Walter is working from the bottom. Walter wants to get back to his feet but Machin is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Machin wants to pass the guard but Walter is keeping the position. Machin passes Walter's left leg - he's now in half guard. Machin wants to pass to mount but Walter is defending the position. Machin is trying for a kimura here. Walter looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Machin wins by kimura!
