Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Domingo Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malvin Maldi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maldi has chosen Loituma TECHNO! as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Domingo Perez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Domingo Perez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 39 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Malvin Maldi!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perez jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Horrible takedown by Perez or perhaps it was just good defense by Maldi which made him look bad.
Perez tries to clinch but Maldi moves out of range.
Perez lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Perez lands with a straight right. Maldi didn't see that one coming.
Maldi fails to land the takedown.
Perez pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Maldi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Perez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Perez turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Perez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Maldi walks away with a smile on his face. Perez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Maldi tries to bench press Perez off him but Perez keeps the position.

Perez is taking a breather. Maldi says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Perez throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Maldi smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Perez bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Perez misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Maldi.
Maldi scores with a leg kick.
Maldi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Perez circles away quickly and effectively.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Perez throws a chopping leg kick but Maldi manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Perez has taken the fight to the clinch.
Perez is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Perez looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Domingo Perez dominated that round.

Maldi throws an overhand right that lands on Perez's shoulder, as Perez tries to avoid the shot.
Perez wants to slow Maldi down by chopping away at his legs.
Perez uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Maldi.

Perez shoots in for a double leg but Maldi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maldi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Perez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Maldi has managed to get both his arms back between Perez's legs - danger averted.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Maldi misses with a head shot. Perez uses the momentum to regain guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Malvin Maldi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
