Heed kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Gentlelman. Mongolia Heed has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Springs!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Springs doesn't manage to clinch there - Heed circles away.
Sam Springs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Springs misses with a takedown attempt

and Heed counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Springs!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Heed postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Springs taking a bit of punishment here - Heed scoring with strikes.
Heed has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The ground and pound from Heed seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Springs is still in real trouble! Can Heed finish him?
Springs is not content to let Heed control the position.
Springs really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Heed. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Heed seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Springs for as long as he can get away with.

Heed is trying to ground and pound but Springs uses the momentary lack of control by Heed to regain half guard.
Heed throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Springs seems to have recovered his senses.
Heed perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Heed has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Heed working over Springs with some ground and pound. Springs looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Springs tries to roll over but Heed keeps him under control.
Heed is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Heed not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Heed lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Springs! Heed sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Springs and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!

A pretty intense looking Mongolia Heed took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
