Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between joe gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Sakubaba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). joe gracie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
gracie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - gracie lands in his opponent's guard.
gracie trying to control but Sakubaba is working from the bottom.
gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Sakubaba is retaining full guard.
gracie would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sakubaba has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes gracie off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Horrible takedown by gracie or perhaps it was just good defense by Sakubaba which made him look bad.
Sakubaba pushes gracie up against the cage in a clinch.
gracie has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Sakubaba is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
gracie drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for joe gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
gracie has hold of one of Sakubaba's legs. Sakubaba is fighting the takedown attempt but gracie gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sakubaba swivels though and keeps the full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Sakubaba doesn't manage to clinch there - gracie circles away.
gracie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
gracie is breathing heavily.
Sakubaba is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
gracie is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sakubaba can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
gracie with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

gracie can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sakubaba is looking to escape.

Sakubaba is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, gracie has taken his back.
Sakubaba won't enjoy being in this position. gracie looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Sakubaba is tapping - it's over boys! gracie picks up the submission victory!
