Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between JB Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshihiro Takaya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Yoshihiro Takaya!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams connects with a single shot there.
Adams looks for a takedown but Takaya sprawls well.
Takaya throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Adams connects with a body shot.
Adams tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Takaya swivels and escapes.

Adams shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Adams was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Adams avoids the attempt from Takaya to control.
Takaya is trying desperately to improve position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Takaya is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Takaya really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Takaya tries to lock up and control but Adams gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Adams controlling from mount.
Adams tries to push Takaya's head away but Takaya is holding on tight.
Takaya wants to hold on but Adams pushes him away.
Adams prevents Takaya from getting the reversal.
Adams tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Takaya tries to lock up and control but Adams gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Adams is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Takaya is just riding it out for now. Adams eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Adams is breathing heavily.

Adams seems to be working for a kimura but Takaya defends the submission attempt.

Takaya is trying to get back to full guard.
Takaya moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Adams decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Adams doesn't manage to clinch there - Takaya circles away.

Takaya shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Adams is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Takaya pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Adams can't escape the position.
A nice elbow there by Takaya.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Yoshihiro Takaya will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Takaya looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Adams is fending him off so far but Takaya persists. Nope, Adams circles away and we're back to standing.
Takaya fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Adams thows a body shot but no joy.

Takaya clinches up with Adams and pushes him back against the cage.

Takaya has hold of one of Adams's legs. Adams is fighting the takedown attempt but Takaya gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Adams is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Takaya slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Takaya wants to control from the top but Adams keeps moving.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Adams manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Takaya manages to get himself to full guard.

Takaya pulls Adams in close to his closed guard and prevents Adams from doing any damage or advancing position.

Takaya is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Adams looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Takaya is looking to control Adams's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Takaya avoid being mounted?

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Adams jabs Takaya right on the nose. Takaya blinks but takes it well.

Adams shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Adams showed some decent athleticism there.

Adams is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Adams is stalling here. Takaya is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Adams seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Takaya has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Adams is looking for a sweep.
Takaya tries to advance to mount but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

JB Adams dominated that second round.
That's time! Adams's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Adams tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Takaya smiles and moves away.

Adams darts in trying to clinch

and Takaya counters with a takedown into side control.
Takaya is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Adams's shoulder. That is not cool.
Adams takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Adams is trying to control Takaya's posture but Takaya avoids it.
Adams is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Adams manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Adams passes to side control.
Adams looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Takaya is avoiding damage well.

Adams is looking to take a break and control but Takaya is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Adams is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Takaya is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Takaya takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Adams tries to advance to mount but can't.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Takaya decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Adams's guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for JB Adams. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Adams pulls Takaya in to control the position.
Takaya looking to sit in guard and control but Adams gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Adams is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Takaya manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Yoshihiro Takaya comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Takaya has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
