PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nub Nodes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Son Gohan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Son Gohan!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nodes is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gohan.
Gohan wants to clinch up but Nodes keeps it at a distance.
Nodes swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Nodes moves out of range as Gohan strikes.
Nodes misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gohan.
Nodes lands with a shot to the body.
Gohan takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looks like Son Gohan has been cut.
Nodes tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Gohan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gohan is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Nodes keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nub Nodes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gohan moves in looking to clinch but Nodes pushes him off.
Gohan doesn't manage to clinch there - Nodes circles away.
Gohan swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Nodes.
Nodes throws a hook but Gohan blocks it.
Nodes throws a jab when Gohan was well out of range.

Gohan wants to clinch up but Nodes keeps it at a distance.
Nodes getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Nodes looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Gohan is looking to clinch but Nodes is avoiding it.
Nodes looks to land a left hand but Gohan moved out of range nicely.
Nodes misses with an uppercut. Gohan saw that one coming.
Nodes rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Gohan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Nodes throws a hook to the side of Gohan's head but Gohan sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Nodes throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gohan sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Nodes. Gohan does a little dance to reset his feet.
Nodes cracks Gohan with a right hand to the side of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gohan tries to clinch but Nodes moves out of range.

Gohan closes the distance and clinches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nodes lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Gohan misses with some punches.
Nodes lands with a short shot to the head.
Nodes lands a body punch.
Nodes wants to stall.
Nodes can't find room to land a body shot as Gohan controls the action.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Nodes.
Nodes lands a shot to the body.
Gohan looks winded!
Nodes lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Nodes.
Nodes presses Gohan against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Nodes scores with a hook to the body.

Nodes drops Gohan onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Gohan is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Gohan is rocked!
Nodes misses with a body punch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Nodes.
Gohan is still on wobbly legs! Can Nodes finish him?
Nodes pushes Gohan against the cage and as Gohan bounces back, Nodes cracks him with a massive overhand right that sends him crashing to the mat! Nodes follows up with more strikes but Gohan was out from that first, devastating punch! Wow!
